Structured Reporting

Do you want to know more about the future of PACS/RIS Reporting?

Now days most PACS vendors are still using Word Processors for Reporting, where almost whole report is saved under one field in DB. Nevertheless, current trend in reporting technology shifted to Structured Reporting (SR) where each field like, Medical history, Diagnosis, conclusion, etc are stored in a separate field and sent back to DB which allows to use any of those fields in Search, Statistics and any further workflow decisions. In fact, Structured Reporting existed long time ago as part of many DICOM services. Unfortunately, only few PACS vendors started using SR. Structured Reporting is used more in Cardiology PACS, and in DICOM workstations like GE Centricity RA600.
